John Leonard is Director of Choirs at the College of New Jersey where he conducts three ensembles, teaches conducting, and maintains a busy schedule as a freelance artist. He has held various conducting, solo and chorus contracts, and has performed as a professional singer and chorister with a number of well-known organizations, including the Philadelphia Singers and the Mendelssohn Club of Philadelphia.

Dr. Leonard recently successfully completed his doctoral studies in Conducting with doctoral minors in Voice Performance and Music History at Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music. His M.M. studies are from Westminster Choir College and Temple University's Esther Boyer College of Music where he completed a Master's in Choral Conducting in 2005. He lives in Ewing, NJ, with his wife Laurel and their two sons, Geoffrey and Samuel.
